Our History

Medical Arts Associates, Ltd. began as a two physician partnership in 1959. Doctors Eric Peterson and Clyde Anderson joined their practices in the 5th Avenue Building in downtown Moline. In 1964, along with Dr. Richard Phillis, they moved into 1520-7th Street, Moline. In 1970 the partnership was formally incorporated as Medical Arts Associates, Ltd. In 1973, doctors William McCormick and James Gilson joined Medical Arts and developed Cardiology services on both sides of the river. In 1975, the multi-specialty practice relocated to 4600-3rd Street, Moline. Since 1997, the main offices have been in the UnityPoint Campus on 7th Street and John Deere Road, Moline, Illinois.

Medical Arts has been taking care of patient needs for the last seven decades. We continue our "old school" philosophy by stressing customer service. We have experienced professionals answering your calls. We take pride in getting back to you quickly. Our billing department is within our office and is experienced in helping you navigate the maze of insurance coverages. Our multi-specialty group is comprised of physicians and physician assistants, all highly trained and certified. They currently represent four different specialties: Allergy-Immunology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our group has the ability to bring their extraordinary breadth of experience to almost any medical issue.

We are fortunate to be caring for many of our original patients for over 50 years. They found a medical home here decades ago as we hope you will too. As proud as we are of our past, we are equally excited about the future. We continue to employ new providers many of whom were raised in the Quad Cities and have now returned to continue practicing locally. We are especially proud of the fact that many of our employees and staff have continued with us for their entire working career.
